Hello Friend,

It is wonderful to see you here! I hope all is well, and you are enjoying a delicious cup of coffee right now, “Maybe even Dream Cabin Coffee!” If you are not, I must say “Shame on You!” I am just kidding! I am going to assume that you just found out about Dream Cabin Coffee (since you are on the about page), and you are curious about who the Founder of Dream Cabin Coffee is. Yep, that’s me! My name is Micah Bachman. I am currently 20 years old and live in central Illinois, where most of my family is located. I am a young entrepreneur enjoying the small business lifestyle, taking each day one cup of coffee at a time. To begin telling you exactly who I am, I am going to start from the beginning, so you know the whole story, so be sure to grab a warm blanket, and a cup of coffee, and bear with me!

My family has always had an entrepreneurial spirit, with constant ideas of new business prospects, new projects, ideas, dreams, and more. To say the least, that’s exactly how my coffee roasting company came to life. It was a family effort to help each other out. I received the idea from one of my family members one day, and so it began. At that time, I knew very little about coffee, and I knew very little about roasting, but it was all very interesting to me.

I began in the entrepreneur world around 12 years old, with a small business, where I mowed lawns, did leaf removal, snow removal, and much more. It was a great experience for me, where I learned how to grow, interact with others, create relationships, and most of all, I learned how to work. From there, I began working part-time for my relative's Garage Door Company. When I started working part-time there, my lawn care business slowly died away as I wasn’t putting much time into it. From the age of 12-15, I kept mowing yards and working part-time filling in the time I wasn’t in school. At the age of 15, another business idea came to mind as a friend mentioned it when we were in the middle of a school project.

My Story

The best part about growing a business is the challenge to get it off the ground, pushing it to the limit, to reach the goals you have set. When owning your own business, there is never a limit to where you can push your business. You can just continue to grow until you are ready to move on, and that is where some business owners would sell their business, and that is what I love about the business world. You have to option to choose exactly what you want to do, and where you want to go.

So, at the age of 15, I started another business called “Elite Auto Detailing,” a detailing business where I cleaned and detailed cars. I loved this side hustle as I enjoy cars. I did this for a short time and soon got very busy with school as I was trying to graduate a year early. I was putting a lot of time into school to get good grades, and along with that, I had a lot of homework. This took up most of my time each day, leaving very little time for me to clean cars, but I tried my best to get detail in here and there whether it was on the weekend, or late in the evening. Soon the business went along the wayside, but still never left my mind. To this day, I still have the equipment, and many of the tools to continue this business, but just haven’t had the time to continue. It may be a possible side hustle in the future but for the time being, I am holding off to continue with some of my other businesses.

The last few months of high school went by very quickly. During these months, was when the latest business idea sparked another interest in me. When one of my family members sent me an ad for a coffee roasting company asking me what I thought about it, I was immediately interested. I began researching it, watching hundreds of videos, and spending a lot of time reading blogs, books, and more on how to start a coffee roasting company. It took me a while to do all of this, but I soon spent the money and got the basic equipment I needed to start.

After getting some basic equipment, I began experimenting with different beans and roasts to see how they would turn out. I couldn’t help but fall in love with this wonderful experience as I was standing there roasting a small batch of coffee. Just the aroma of green coffee being roasted sparked something inside of me and inspired me to start what is now Dream Cabin Coffee.

Dream Cabin Coffee is here because I wanted to share my love for coffee with you, and many others out there. There is just something about coffee that is so fascinating. Every day it seems like I learn something new, whether it be about a certain coffee, how a certain coffee roasts, or even the customers who like certain coffees compared to others. There is a huge difference in good quality coffee compared to any coffee you can grab off the store shelf. (If you don't believe me, buy one of my bags of Single Origin coffee and put it up against the regular coffee you drink - smell and taste the difference!)

One thing I look forward to each morning is grabbing that fresh cup of coffee to help start the day. If you are like me and enjoy your coffee, why waste your money on cheap coffee? Why not spend a little more on something worth drinking?

Here at Dream Cabin Coffee, I want you to feel that warm feeling I felt the first time I tasted a delicious cup of Freshly Roasted Coffee! That is why I focus on you as my customer, trying to find what you will like and enjoy. You as the customer will always have the stage as you are the most important part of my business. Without you, I wouldn’t have this business. Dream Cabin Coffee would just be a dream waiting to happen, so to give you the full experience of truly fresh coffee I never roast the coffee until you have placed your order. After being roasted, I package the coffee, put it in resealable bags, and ship it off where you can grab it right from your doorstep. I only send out the best and freshest of all coffee! If I wouldn't serve it to my family, I wouldn't serve it to yours!

Thank you so much for visiting my shop! I appreciate your support and I hope you enjoy a good cup of coffee. It would be a pleasure to someday enjoy a good cup of coffee together! I hope you have a wonderful day, and take each day one cup at a time!
